One of the most popular water sports available in Tenerife is jet bikes. They are available on Fanabe Playa and Puerto Colon beach. Tourists can book them
for 20 minutes individually, or you can also take a jet-bike safari excursion tour along the coast, which can last from 1 to 3 hours. You have to be over 18,
but 16 and 17 years olds can have a go if a parent signs a consent form. Bear in mind that it is cheaper in the morning before 11.30am, when it is less
busy.
Other water sports available in Tenerife including diving and snorkelling. The crystal clear waters are ideal for this sport. There are several diving
schools and clubs in Tenerife including Wreck n' Reef Scuba Diving in Las Americas. They offer diving lessons, courses and even diving holidays, as well as
professional diving education for those who want to become an open water diver, advanced diver or rescue diver. This dive centre is situated just a few steps
from Las Vistas beach.
The best place for wind-surfing in Tenerife is reported to be El Medano, which was originally a fishing village. There is a cross shore wind and average swells
of 1 metre (maximum 2 metres), which makes it an ideal location for wind-surfers. However, it is not recommended for beginners as the waves can be very strong.
