CLICK HERE TO SEE OUR LATE DEALS 20% DISCOUNT OVER NEXT 2 MONTHS Los Cristianos old town is a short walk up from the port. This centre is largely pedestrianised and presents a stark contrast with recent development as it is full of characterful narrow streets and alleyways. For those seeking a real shopping bargain this might be found at the Sunday market in Los Cristianos by the Arona Hotel, be prepared to haggle! A long promenade connects the old beach of Los Cristianos (see picture to left) with the newer Playa de las Vistas (see picture to right). This is well worth strolling along at night to be entertained by the live music coming from many restaurants and bars. In the most popular areas you may catch caricature artists sketching their customers for a small fee, usually 10 euros. There are a large number of different themed bars, many of which offer familiar brands from home, along with karaoke. Both beaches are clean and fly flags to advise on the safety of swimming, in addition there are life-guards. It is possible to rent sun beds and parasols by the day and also shower off sand before quitting the beach.
The central plaza features a lovely church and is the focus of Canarian festivals and social activities in the evening. On or near the square most of the main Spanish banks are represented, as well as a Barclays. There are also a great abundance of clothes shops and boutiques. The clothes here are very stylish. Our apartment is less than 10 minutes walk from the centre.
